Show News September - October 2005 |
Saturday, 3rd September We took Vincent and Roxi to the Sighthound Festival at Bad Homburg in Germany, under Mrs Kenis-Pordham (GB). For once, Vincent seemed to enjoy himself in the ring, and was awarded CAC and VDH! I am soooo proud of him! (And he beat a Junior World Winner in his class!) Mrs Kenis-Pordham's critque: "Two year old dog, looking and acting rather older than his age. Strong masculine head, good ears, rather deeply set. Complete scissor bite. Excellent neck, shoulder, forechest, upper arm and bone. Good topline which could show more rise over the loin. Good croup. Good strong hindquarters. Moved very fluidly and powerfully, but could show more enthusiasm. Wiry coat." |
Roxi was third in her class and was awarded Excellent, and she also behaved much
better in the ring than previously. The winning bitch was Rainer Sticht's Xena
of Tir Na Nog. Mrs Kenis-Pordham's critque: "Powerful grey brindle bitch of 17 months. Lovely head and expression, good ears and good mouth. Good shoulder, but needs more lay back of upper arm and forechest. Good bone for size. Needs more rise over the loin, good croup. Strong well muscled hindquarters. Moves very freely." |

Saturday, 17th September We attended the IDS in Lendava, Slovenia, with Vincent, Roxi, Ailin and Mary, together with the two 16 weeks old pups, Bart and McKenna. Vincent won his class, gaining another CAC, then Ailin was second in the champion class with res. CAC, Roxi won her class (she stood alone), gaining her first CAC and in the open class, Mary, just 16 weeks after giving birth to a litter of twelve, was awarded an excellent mark and res. CAC. We were already feeling very proud, but it wasn't over yet! Vincent went on to be placed second in the best male competition and was awarded res. CACIB, and Roxi was second best bitch and won res. CACIB too!! At just 17 months old!! I was soooo proud of both of them! |

Following the IDS came the club show, where Vincent and Roxi both got another CAC.
Bart and McKenna made their show debuts, both being given a "Very Promising I.
" mark. Then we had a long wait until the Best in Show competition, but it was
worth it - to our amazement, McKenna won Best Puppy in Show and Bart was second!!!
What a huge success! But still we weren't finished . .. we had two entries in the brace competition: McKenna & Bart, and Vincent & Roxi. Vincent and Roxi took third Best Brace in Show . . . and McKenna and Bart won!!! They were so perfect and so funny among all the big champions! The spectators all clapped when they ran around the ring, and the judge just couldn't resist them! BEST BRACE IN SHOW at just 16 weeks old!!! And the icing on the cake - Petra's Kvisto won the champion class, and Ailish of Northern Forest had a perfect run in the lure coursing competition, which together with a CAC from the club show gave her dual champion status! |
