Merlin lived with his owner Zoltán in the Hungarian city of Szolnok together with
ICh. Bodie Surycan (Philip) and Crazy Coctail Roan Inish (Jaqui). Merlin
was a very good show dog, because not only was he very elegant and gentle, but
his owner was a perfect handler. So it was no surprise that he was very successful
and had titles at the highest level of competition including several Best
in Group wins and finishing his Interchampion title at just two years old. In 2006 he fathered two litters in Hungary. The first, of nine puppies, was born in the Irvavagyon kennel to a wonderful fawn female, Irvavagyon Olga. The second was of five puppies to Siegmound´s Ariel, a brindle. Merlin died peacefully in his sleep, after he had developed occasional breathing problems. Unfortunately, there is no veterinary confirmation of the cause of his death. We would like to thank Zoltan for taking care of Merlin and for loving him so much. Merlin, we miss you . . . |

AILÍS SCÁTHÁCH Really Irish - Eliska - Sex: female Colour: dark brindle, white marks Owner: The Polma family, Czech Republic |
Eliska left us at the age of eight weeks and moved 300 km away to her new, very nice
and loving family. She was the only girl in the litter and was my big hope
for the future, but her bite is totally incorrect. I was afraid her family wouldn't
want to keep her as they bought her as a show puppy, but it's clear that they
also bought her for love and pleasure. Whenever we visit Eliska, we find
a thoroughly happy girl with very proud owners. Instead of show successes she
gives her family all the love they could want every day. She is a big (about
86 cm tall!) and strong, with a very gentle and loving temperament. |
ATH FIR DIADD Really Irish - Medy - Sex: male Colour: brindle, white marks Owner: Jaromír Hradil, Kromeríž, Czech Republic |
Medy lived with us till he was eleven months old, and I thought we would never find
anyone good enough for him. Then along came Mr. Hradil and I knew that Medy
had found his new owner. Medy is the eighth wolfhound in the family, living with
Geena Big Viking (Geeny), a young English boy Santir Vincent (Vincent) and the
youngest member of pack - Camilla dei Mangialupi (Roxi). He is the strongest
boy from the litter, and has the most masculine head I have ever seen. |
ARD - RÍ Really Irish - Garfield - Sex: male Colour: dark brindle, white marks Owner: Zdenek Hýsek, Brno, Czech Republic |
Garfield lives very near us, in Brno, just 20 km away. He has grown into a very big
boy, I don't know for sure that he is the tallest from the litter, but I am
sure he has the longest legs :-) He is very gentle and self confident, and
I am very proud of his wonderful friendly temperament. |

Tragically, Arun died at the age of three months in a car accident. He was a very
special young boy. We still miss him very much and are very sorry that his owner
lost him so early . . . Arun, please wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge, we long to see you again . . . |

AILIN McCATHAIL Really Irish - Ailin - Sex: male Colour: black, white mark Owner: Lenka Parízková, Bruchotín, Czech Republic |
Ailin is Lenka's third wolfhound, but her first male, first black, first so tall,
first so successful. He is Number 1! His show career started very early, at four
months old, when he won Best Puppy in Show, quickly followed by other
major wins such as Best in Group and, at the age of just 13 months, the highest
of all - Best in Show. When he was two, Lenka decided to try coursing with him
and again he excelled. In 2004 he was Slovakian Coursing winner, Grand Prix winner,
and won the reserve CACT title at the Czech Championship. The highlight
came in 2005 at a Czech Club Show with 110 entered wolfhounds, where Ailin
won the Club Winner title. In 2006 he had more big wins - he completed the highly
regarded Club Championionship of the Czech Wolfhound-Deerhound Club, and at
coursing he was Champion of Moravia and Silesia and winner of the Otrokovice
Cup! We are very proud of him. |
ÁDH - MÓR Really Irish - Tara- Sex: male Colour: black, white mark Owner: Ing. Tatiana Ratuská, Bratislava, Slovakia |
Tara lives with his owner Tána in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Their day
usually starts before 5 o'clock, when they go for a walk, then Tara has breakfast
and Tána goes to work. When she returns in the afternoon, she and Tara spend
time with her other love, a wonderful horse named Gillar. Tána spends all afternoon
and evening with Tara and Gillar, walking in the woods, usually with her
friend Jana, who takes the excellent photos you can see in his gallery. Neither
Tara nor Tana likes dog shows, but when they occasionally take part in one, it's
not in vain - in 2005 at a Czech Club Show Tara won BOB, beating 110 entered
wolfhounds under the Irish judge, Mr Foggarty! |
The first litter (the 'A' Litter) of the Really Irish Kennel was born on Monday,
18th March 2002. There were nine boys and one girl, the boys: four black, three
dark brindle and two light brindle and the girl was dark brindle. Due to the number of boys we had difficulty choosing names for the puppies, but finally decided on these Irish names: The proud parents were our Ibella and Pitlochry's Samuel, an imported male from a famous Dutch kennel. Samuel is very nice brindle, a strong and well balanced male of good size. He has nice head, excellent rose ears, long neck and correct legs with good angulation. His great strongpoint is his wonderful, active and elegant movement. Samuel's show critiques Mrs. J. McDonald - GB: Very good balanced body, excellent long neck and front legs, correct top line and down line, correct bite. Mrs. Pavlásková - SR: Two year old brindle male, middle size, very nice head, elegant long neck, correct body, excellent muscles and coat. Nice, active movement. |

Edie is a very special boy in our litter. His brothers are great cat-hunters, but
not Edie - he is a cat nurse. He loves all the cats that live around his
house and takes care of the little kittens. He is a fine wolfhound, but his owner
is not interested in shows and allows Edie to live a life free from training,
grooming or stress, but filled with great love and special friendship. |
We are very sad to say that we have no recent news of Harley. As a puppy, his new
'mum' took good care of him - they went for a nice walks and spent a great deal
of time together. But then, as sometimes happens, his family was divorced, and
because officially his 'dad' is his owner, Harley stayed with him and although
his 'mum' loved him more. His owner doesn't answer our letters or let us know
what is happening with Harley, so we can only hope that he is doing well and living
a good wolfhound life. |
Tobiash lives with a very nice family, although it' s a pity that they are not interested
in shows, as he is very handsome. After hearing some of the stories about
him, I have to say that he has inherited the most from Ibella. Like his mother,
hel eats everything he can find. As a result, he had to undergo surgery at
an early age because he ate a large bottle lid. Thankfully, he came through the
operation very well and since then (fingers crossed for future!) he has only
had to see the vet more for his vaccinations. |
